For Love of Our Neighbors

A February Food Drive

The economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause food insecurity in Kerr County. To provide a big Valentine’s Day gift to our community, HCCTDW is organizing a Food Drive for Mustard Seed Ministries tentatively set for February 9, 2021.

The Christmas Food Drive was so successful and so appreciated by Mustard Seed Ministries that the HCCTDW Board has arranged for our group to gather once more near the Gazebo in the parking lot at Mount Wesley Community Center on Methodist Encampment Road from noon to 1:00 p.m. We will collect food and funding for Mustard Seed, a ministry of First United Methodist Church of Kerrville. Mustard Seed requests nonperishable food for family meals and household paper products. Contributions by check to FUMC Mustard Seed Ministries are also welcome.

Between noon and 1:00 p.m., members are invited to drive through or park and join the activity of unloading car trunks and loading up wagons with food for our neighbors who are served by Mustard Seed Ministries. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, members are encouraged to wear lots of hearts. Last December, we had a lot of fellowship and interaction despite wearing masks and observing social distance during the food drive. The same guidelines will apply to the February Food Drive.
